Veracruz and Antón Lizardo
Overview
We invite you to discover the other side of Mexico underwater: dive in the Gulf of Mexico, in the Port of Veracruz and Antón Lizardo. The Veracruz reef system includes 17 reefs and is the most extensive in the Gulf of Mexico.
Diving conditions during the summer are ideal for its diversity of depths, sunken ships and variety of marine fauna.
Puerto de Veracruz Brain corals are one of the greatest attractions of the marine fauna in the area, you can see huge areas completely populated with different species of brains and many sponges in which reef fish such as surgeons, sergeants, French angels hide. There is always the possibility of seeing large animals such as turtles, dolphins, rays, moray eels and even mobules.
Antón Lizardo- This dive site is somewhat far from the Port but we will leave in speedboats to avoid sea sickness and arrive in a short time. Being a remote area, visibility can be up to 30 meters.
Dive into 90 ft long gullies, labyrinths, crevices and tunnels filled with corals, sponges, tons of large fish like tarpon and African branches, and clouds of fish like horse mackerel.
